FRONTDOC 2016, held November 10 to 13 in Aosta, represented by APA VdA a significant challenge: to revive an important film event not only for our profession, for territory and its cultural life, but also for filmmakers and producers from around the world.

In 2016, FRONTDOC became a real International Documentary Festival, able to assume a precise identity and carve out a prominent place among industry events, in Italy and abroad.

Now, we can say that the 2016 edition was a success. The quality of the cultural operation, the response of public and the staff have proved equal to the ambitions and the effort made by our Association.

​

The festival program was rich and varied: 32 great films presented in the competition (including many in premières), successful initiatives for young people and schools, workshops for professionals and moments of study with special guests, a jury of great depth and international experience, exciting special events and meetings with authors.

The FRONTDOC project has placed its bases in order to grow and be implemented fully in the coming years: a new festival was born and showed its potential and its ability to be able to become a key event in the cultural life of our city, our region and the international festival scene: an appointment that can excite, engage and enrich a large and diverse audience.
